Delete your account
You can delete your Collectful account and everything in it at any time, from inside the app or by email.
In the app
- Open Collectful and go to Profile.
- Tap Settings (the cog, top right).
- Under Account, tap Delete my account, then confirm.
If you're signed in, Collectful needs an internet connection for this step so it can tell our servers. It then erases everything on your phone and starts again as if newly installed. If you use Collectful without an account, there's nothing on our servers, and this simply erases the app's data on your phone.
What gets deleted
- your profile: username, display name, bio and profile photo;
- every collection, group, item, detail, photo and bookmark;
- your sign-in link to Apple or Google;
- the analytics events linked to your account, and your security logs.
Your public collections and profile disappear from Explore straight away, and other people's bookmarks of them stop showing their contents. Everything else is removed from our servers within 30 days, and from our backups within a further 35 days. This can't be undone.
What isn't deleted
- Your subscription. Deleting your account doesn't cancel it. Cancel it first in your App Store subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records.
- Your phone's own backups. Copies of the app's data in iCloud or Google backups are managed by Apple or Google and expire on their schedule.
- A record of your request. If you ask by email, we keep your email and the date we completed the deletion for up to 12 months, to show we did it.
Delete only some of your data
You don't have to delete your account to remove something. In the app you can delete any item, photo, collection or group, or make a public collection private. Deleted things are removed from our servers on the same schedule as above.
Can't use the app?
If you've lost your phone or can't open the app, email placeholder with the subject “Delete my Collectful account”.
- Send it from the email address on your account. If you signed in with Apple's “Hide My Email”, include your Collectful username instead.
- We may ask you to confirm the request before we act on it, so nobody else can delete your account.
- We'll delete the account and its data within 30 days and email you when it's done.
